sustained by God

“My flesh and my heart fail; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” (Psalm 73:26 NKJV)

Hello! It’s been a while since I last blogged my little heart out. How is everyone? How was your summer? Was it too hot? Too fast? Or like mine, just to quick! I did have a good summer though. I actually took a little family trip to San Francisco in July and it was great! I will blog more about that in future, promise. This summer I did feel like I have grown up a little, and not just because I had a BDAY! It’s because I realized how faithful my Jesus is.

Let me rewind a little bit here. I know how faithful God is. For some reason, I thought it is required of God, the Creator of the Universe, to “have” to be faithful. See it isn’t. He doesn’t have to be. But like a loving, caring Father that knows best, He is and will be Faithful. In painful, horrible, dreadful moments, He is still faithful. In the book of Job, it reads, ” The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; Blessed be the name of the Lord.” (Job 1:21 NKJV) We may not see it at times, ( I know I don’t) but He is faithful in everything. It could be that not so good relationship that you are in. Or that job, or even certain friends that YOU know are not helping your walk with God. When you take that step of Faith and make a stand for Jesus. He will be faithful. He will always honor your decision. You know what comes with being sure that God is and always will be faithful? Having trust in Him. Having His Word in you heart. Trusting that His plans and His ways are 100% better than your ways. (Jeremiah 29:11)

“Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing. Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.” (Psalm 100:2-5 NKJV)

“Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments”.(Deuteronomy 7:9 NKJV)

Thought provoking. I confess I haven’t really thought before that God doesn’t have to be faithful. I’ve always believed that because it is His very nature to be faithful and because He promises to be faithful, He is and will always be faithful. Yet its not something that is forced or done out of a sense of ‘mere’ duty but out of love.

I guess it works the same way saying that God does not have to love us but He does.

    Thanks for the posting 🙂
